This class provides the basic knowledge to recognize a life-threatening emergency and provide life support when responding to an airway obstruction or cardiac arrest.  This program is commonly-used by healthcare providers and professional responders when responding to cardiac arrest.

 

Course topics include:

• Sudden cardiac arrest

• Basic life support assessment

• Caring for respiratory arrest

• Caring for cardiac arrest

• Multiple provider approach for CPR

• Choking

CAPCE

Continuing education (CE) hours for EMS professionals are available for BLS from Health & Safety Institute (HSI), a CAPCE accredited organization. A hands-on-skills session is required to obtain full certification in BLS.
