For security professionals who carry handguns openly on duty, we recommend carrying in Level III retention holsters similar to those carried on duty. We recommend the Safariland ALS/SLS line of holsters, the Blackhawk T-Series holster and the Alien Gear Rapid Force holster. 

 

There are not many products we explicitly do not recommend. However, we strongly do not recommend the Blackhawk Serpa holster or any other holster with a trigger finger release retention button. This is a flawed design that has resulted in many negligent discharges and injuries. Like many shooting schools, we do not allow these holsters to be used in our classes.
