Defensive Shotgun Skills Program

IMG_0796_edited.jpg

Higher Purpose Training is proud to offer the Defensive Shotgun Skills Program. This program goes beyond sporting clays and bird hunting. It empowers defenders with the essential defensive shotgun skills necessary to get the most utility with their shotgun and prevail in a defensive gunfight. This course is designed around common pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns.

For previous HPT handgun students, this program will build on the techniques covered in our handgun curricula and follow the same methodology: ingrain combat Mindset, master essential Skills, and develop a self-defense Plan based on known abilities.

Shotguns are versatile, but are not for the novice. Unlike  the myths suggest, they must be aimed. They are hungry guns that must be fed. The student will also evaluate their shotgun and any accessories by running practical drills and meeting objective standards.

This program is taught on an outdoor range, 8-hours a day.  The days are packed with lectures, instructor demos, dry practice and live fire drills. Prepare to fire at least 200-300 purposeful rounds a day.

Program Options

The DSS Program is delivered in 3 ways: cohort, intensive or private training sessions.

Cohort Program

Our Defensive Shotgun Skills Cohort Program was designed to provide high-quality training to regular people who live local to the Las Vegas Valley.

Instead of using all your vacation and paid time off to attend one, intensive multi-day course, the program is broken up into 3, full-day live fire training days on the range. You will train with us in-person, 1 day per month, for 4 months.

After each range day, you will leave every range session with an individual understanding of where you need improvement and a personalized training plan. In between range days, you will be given recommended dry practice drills to do at home and live fire drills to run yourself through at the range on your own so you can build your skills.

Enrollment will be limited to small cohorts of no more than 12 students. This will ensure that you get individual attention each time you come to a range session.

Please contact us to inquire when our next cohort is. To host a cohort specifically for your family, school, church or business, please call or text Angelo at (702) 983-0469 or email angelo@higherpurpose.training to discuss your training needs.

Intensive Courses

By request, you can host a Higher Purpose Training Defensive Shotgun Intensive. This would be a course that takes the curriculum from our cohort program and delivers it in an intense multi-day format, 3 8-hour days on the range. We can offer these courses locally in the Las Vegas Valley, however, we can discuss the possibility of traveling to you.

At the end of the course you will be given recommended dry practice drills to do at home and live fire drills to run yourself through at the range on your own so you can build your skills.

Enrollment will be limited to no more than 12 students. This will ensure that you get individual attention each time you come to a range session.
