Defensive Handgun Skills Program

Higher Purpose Training is proud to offer the Defensive Handgun Skills Program. This program goes beyond state-mandated CCW training and empowers defenders with the essential defensive handgun skills necessary to prevail in a gunfight.
In our CCW course, which is 95% classroom lecture, we lay a foundation in defensive handgun basics, how to make good firearm and gear choices, defensive mindset and firearms law. It is designed to give you an overview of how carrying a handgun everyday will affect your life.
The Defensive Handgun Skills Program will build on the topics covered in our CCW course: ingrain combat Mindset, master essential Skills, and develop a self-defense Plan based on known abilities. You will have the opportunity to evaluate your prospective carry gun and holster by running drills and meeting objective standards.
This program is taught on an outdoor range, 8-hours a day, 1 day a month, for 4 months. The days are packed with lectures, instructor demos, dry practice and live fire drills. Prepare to fire at least 200-300 purposeful rounds a day. Completion of our CCW course and the 4 range days will amount to 40 hours of professional Defensive Handgun Training.

Program Options
The DHS Program is delivered in 3 ways: cohort, intensive or private training sessions.
Cohort Program
Our Defensive Handgun Skills Cohort Program was designed to provide high-quality training to regular people who live local to the Las Vegas Valley. Many people are priced out of training because they can’t afford the tuition for a $1,000+, 4-day course on top of buying gear, a case of ammo, several days off work in a row, lodging accommodations and travel expenses.
Instead of using all your vacation and paid time off to attend one, intensive multi-day course, the program is broken up into 5 parts. We recommend taking our CCW course first. This covers all the classroom topics including defensive handgun basics, how to make good firearm and gear choices, defensive mindset and firearms law. Following our CCW course are 4 8-hour live fire training days on the range. You will train with us in-person, 1 day per month, for 4 months.
After each range day, you will leave every range session with an individual understanding of where you need improvement and a personalized training plan. In between range days, you will be given recommended dry practice drills to do at home and live fire drills to run yourself through at the range so you can build your skills on your own.
Enrollment will be limited to small cohorts of no more than 12 students. This will ensure that you get individual attention each time you come to a range session.
Please contact us to inquire when our next cohort is. To host a cohort specifically for your family, school, church or business, please call or text Angelo at (702) 983-0469 or email angelo@higherpurpose.training to discuss your training needs.
Intensive Courses
By request, you can host a Higher Purpose Training Defensive Handgun Intensive. This would be a course that takes the curriculum from our cohort program and delivers it in an intense multi-day format, 4 10-hour days on the range. We can offer these courses locally in the Las Vegas Valley, however, we can discuss the possibility of traveling to you.
At the end of the course you will be given recommended dry practice drills to do at home and live fire drills to run yourself through at the range on your own so you can build your skills.
Enrollment will be limited to no more than 12 students. This will ensure that you get individual attention each time you come to a range session.
To host a course for your family, school, church or business, please call or text Angelo at (702) 983-0469 or email angelo@higherpurpose.training to discuss your training needs.
Private Training Sessions
By request, we can deliver the whole Defensive Handgun Skills Program in private training sessions. We offer half day (4-hour) sessions and full-day (8-hour) sessions.
Enrollment will be limited to small groups of 3 students or less. This will ensure that you get individual attention each time you come to a range session.
To request private training, please call or text Angelo at (702) 983-0469 or email angelo@higherpurpose.training to discuss your training needs.
